This 52-year-old tradition of Webster, NY was started by Jim May, former English Teacher, in Webster. Jim May started this event as a practice run for his Cross Country Team, as a way for them to get a workout on Thanksgiving Day. As the years progressed, the event grew to what it is today. Jim May’s former Cross Country Runner, Dave Boutillier, took over the reins of the race in the late 90′s under his Race Directing Company, YellowJacket Racing. Each year this race reminds Dave and many other former Webster residents of his youth and running the event annually.

Strollers, Dogs, & Headphones are NOT permitted on course!!   Please note: You must have a bib to participate.  It is bad form and considered banditting if you do not have a bib.  Please just don't do it.  It puts the entire event, its insurances, permits and other athletes at risk.

This event is part of the 9-Race Fleet Feet Grand Prix Series Presented by HOKA.  Eligible participants compete for over $15,000 in cash prizes and HOKA footwear throughout the series. No registration necessary.

Shuttle Bus Information

Few new things related to the busses this year.

  • No strollers on the bus
  • Be nice to every bus driver as they are working swiftly to get you to and from the park.  Patience is key.  It's Thanksgiving, be thankful we all can play at the park
  • Bus pickup is from Willink Middle School (900 Publishers Pkwy, Webster, NY 14580) AND Thomas HS (800 Five Mile Line Rd, Webster, NY 14580) ONLY - Please carpool to those lots
  • The busses will start rolling out at 8AM to bring you to the race site.  It is your responsibility to arrive early to get on the bus.  The final bus will leave both these locales at 9:30AM, althought this is a very tight timeline to get to the start on time.  So in a nutshell, get to the busses as early as possible.  Do NOT WAIT to get on a bus.  We advise getting there by 8:30AM.
  • After the race, the busses will start rolling out of the Holt Road/Parkview Lodge Parking area once the race ends so we encourage you to head straight to the busses post race.  This is the same spot you got dropped off.  Please remain calm, have patience and listen to the bus drivers.  Be sure to get into an orderly line to load the busses and listen to instructions.  Smile, have fun, share trot stories while on line.
  • Be nice to the bus drivers, they are doing everything in their power to get you to where you need to go quickly.
  • Be neat and don't leave litter on the bus
  • Enjoy the ride to and from the park!!

Update as of 11/18/23 - Busses stop at 9:30AM so that we can ensure everyone gets to the race on time.  Please plan accordingly.
