As mentioned last night Monroe County is in the Yellow Zone thus stricter protocols have been put forth for everyone’s safety. We will be abiding, monitoring and enforcing the updated protocols which are below. Tomorrow as we honor our Veterans, we ask that all the below is followed to a tee, as these men and women had to follow even stricter guidelines to protect our country and everyone in it. ALERT as of 11/09/20: Calling all Veterun 5K in person Participants! CHECK YOUR EMAILS! As you may know, Monroe County has now been placed in the Yellow Zone for COVID-19 and is considered a microcluster. With that said, we have been in communication with Monroe County and are trying to get further clarification of events. That said, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pay attention to all emails we send related to Veterun 5K.

In Person Event Details
Due to COVID-19, The In Person Event will have a 2 hour window for the start of this event on Wednesday, Nov 11th at Mendon Ponds Park, Stewart Lodge. You may show up at any time between 10am-12pm to start your race! Be sure to pick up your race bib at packet pickup so that you're ready to go! You will be adhering to all our COVID-19 Protocols to ensure confort and safety of all attendees. For the virtual event, you can do it right from your home or anywhere.

Please try to attend packet pickup to avoid long race day lines and congregation.
If you absolutely need to pick up on race day, you can do so outside of Stewart Lodge starting at 9:15am. Again, this is ill advised.
Registration for In Person event will CLOSE at 11:59pm, Sunday, November 8th. There will be NO race day registration!

COVID-19 GUIDELINES
Due to the current COVID-19 global pandemic, we are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our staff, participants, and the general community.
- Masks must be worn leading up to the start of your event and immediately following the finish of your event.
- All athletes are required to carry hydration with them while on course, there are no water stops
- Post-Race food will be prepackaged and in a bag. These will be handed out to you at the finish line upon completion of your event.
- Remain physically distant by a minimum of 6 feet at all times, and no congregating before or after your event.
- Packet pickup items will be pre-bagged and labeled with your name on it. There is no exchange of shirts or bib numbers available.
- Throw out any of your own trash, do not toss it on the ground for staff/volunteers/other athletes to clean up.
- All athletes will have their temperature taken prior to the start of their race. Anyone with a fever will not be allowed to compete and will be asked to leave.
- There will not be an awards ceremony. We will email awards within a few days after the event is complete so we can compile results
- Results will be available online after the event
- Please check your email for specific race day and packet pickup COVID-19 Protocol

VIRTUAL 5K Event
For those of you that aren't quite comfortable attending an in-person event yet, but still want to support Honor Flight Rochester by participating in the Stars & Stripes VeteRun 5K, you can now join us virtually and run from where ever you want!
Registration will remain open through 5PM on Tuesday, November 10th.
Run/Walk a 5K course of your choosing between 9am, Wednesday, November 11th and 9pm, Sunday, November 15th and submit your times!
Digital finisher certificates will be available for download/printing after your time has been submitted!
Virtual Entry Fees Include:

Race Day Schedule
Race day pick up will open at 9:15am.- We do not advise waiting until race day as we will have to follow strict COVID-19 guidelines in getting your packet. Please go to Packet pickup on Tuesday, Nov 10th at Fleet Feet. You are welcome to pickup other people's packets.

Course/Maps
The course will be slightly different in order to adhere to safety protocols. There will still be a common/start finish. It is a loop course with about 1/2 mile on trails.

Directions/Parking
Parking is available within Mendon Ponds Park at the Beach Lot off of Douglas Road. Please do not park on the grass!
You can also park in the far lot (past ARHAUS) at the Culver Road Armory and carpool!
