The Buffalo Hippity Hop is benefitting the Small Companion Advocacy Team. They are a non-profit small animal rescue that recognizes the desperate need for placement for unwanted small animals including cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils and other similar species. Learn more about them here: Small Companion Advocacy Team
The Small Companion Advocacy Team has had many success stories as it strives to provide appropriate placements for small animals in loving homes such as the testemonials found below:
"Cali was reported to us in 2021 by neighbors who said she and 2 other domestic bunnies were running loose in a local neighborhood. We were able to catch her...Cali has been to the vet, is spayed, and is now bonded with her friend Noah! This bonded pair is happy and healthy and they’re looking for their forever home. Domestic bunnies do not have the same chances of survival as wild bunnies do. They do not camouflage well, their fur cannot repel water, and they do not have the same diet. We work hard to educate any potential adopters that yes, bunnies may make great pets, but they are also a lot of work, require an exotic vet, and are a 10-15 year commitment."
"Belle was caught back in October outdoors and very soon after gave birth to 4 healthy baby lionhead bunnies. Luckily she gave birth in a warm home with a nesting box, plenty of hay and food, and the TLC from our volunteers. One of her babies has been adopted and 3 still remain at the rescue. They will be 4 months old at the end of the month!"
The Small Companion Advocacy Team is asking for donations of baby teething keys, small animal brushes, and stuffed animals for their rabbits:
