The awards for the Fleet Feet Sports Winter Warrior Program will also be presented on Feb. 24th.
Points will be awarded based on finish time. The winner of any given race (male and female) will be awarded 100.00 points. All other runners in that category will receive a percentage of 100.00 equal to the percentage the winner's time is of their own time. For example, if the winner finishes in 20:00 and you finish in 25:30, you will receive (20 minutes/25.5 minutes) * 100 = 78.43 points (points will be rounded to the nearest hundredth).
This type of scoring emphasizes finish time over finish place, making close finishes less detrimental to series standings than scoring by place. Regardless of the order you place, the faster you run, the more points you receive.
A runner's series score will be determined by adding the top 4 scores from individual races. Although running a single race will enter you into the point series, running 4 races will provide a more competitive score. Running more than 4 races will provide an opportunity to improve your score.
At the end of the series, awards will be given to the top runners, male and female. Additionally, awards will be given to the top runner in each age group from 19 & under through 70 & up in 10 year increments, male and female. Age is determined by a runner's age on the January 1, 2017.
6:45pm - Registration opens at Lake Riley Lodge
